We all know that during the processing and storage of grain, a large amount of dust is released, and grain is a potentially explosive product. What is proven by tests carried out by research institutes and explosion protection standards for equipment that have come into force.
When developing design documentation for the construction of an elevator, the need arose to develop a section of the dust removal project. In close cooperation between BAUFLEX-engineering engineers and customer technical specialists, the points of greatest dust emission during the transportation of grain products were identified and a technological diagram of the elevator aspiration system was developed. The customer approved the proposed technical solutions and decided to install an aspiration system based on the TAMA CNSB-TI aspiration bag filter cyclone and the MZ Aspiratori fan.
The design department of the BAUFLEX-engineering company developed design documentation for the aspiration system, supplied the necessary aspiration equipment and implemented the turnkey project.
Since the dust of grain products is explosive, all equipment and the system as a whole were equipped with all the necessary explosion protection measures, which ensured the safety of the aspiration system when working with explosive dust.
Applied solutions and equipment
Filtration: the cyclone bag filter TAMA CNSB-TI provided high quality filtration. Thanks to the tangential inlet, which reduces the dust load on the filter materials, the filter provides a long service life until the filter elements are replaced. Regeneration of filter elements based on pressure drop ensures reduced compressed air consumption and energy savings. Moisture-oil-repellent filter elements made it possible to effectively filter oilseeds, without any risk of clogging the filter elements.
Performance: MZ Aspiratori centrifugal fan ensured low energy consumption of the system and ensured operating parameters.
Safety: the explosion-proof design of the filter, with an installed bursting membrane to relieve the explosion pressure, ensured the safe operation of the aspiration filter with explosive dust. In the event of a dust explosion, there is no risk of filter destruction. In the event of an explosion, when the pressure in the filter surges, the rupture membrane releases the explosion pressure and flame into a previously determined safe area, which will ensure the safety of other process equipment and elevator personnel.
